IMS stands for Intramuscular Stimulation.

The application of IMS and success has been noted mostly in the reduction of chronic musculoskeletal pain. Some of the conditions we treat with IMS are:

  • Tennis Elbow

  • Low Back Pain

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Carpal Tunnel

  • Frozen Shoulder

  • and many more!

IMS involves the insertion of needles into muscles who have “shortened” or “contracted”. Creating a tiny hole in the tight muscle it then encourages blood and healing materials into the area. If a muscle stays “tight” for extended periods of time it will not heal and eventually become chronic. The muscle being needled grabs onto the needle and after a while will relax, thus allowing it to heal.
